Abstract
Immunization is an action to provide protection or immunity to the body of the baby and child by injecting a vaccine or a series of diseases that have been weakened into the body, to protect and prevent babies from infectious diseases. Lack of knowledge will also affect mothers in giving immunizations and assume if their children are immunized they will be sick and even paralyzed so that they influence the attitude shown by mothers in providing basic immunizations. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with the provision of complete basic immunization at the Medan Poskeskel Clinic in 2018.
The research design used an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach, which was to find out the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with complete basic immunization in Poskeskel Clinic Medan in 2018. The study population was all mothers with 10-12 months babies, 46 respondents. The sampling technique is the total population of 46 respondents. How to collect data using a questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi-square statistical test with = 0.05.
The statistical test results used the chi-square test, the results of knowledge calculation p velue = 0.031 (<α = 0.05). And attitude is p velue = 0.006 (<α = 0.05). This means that there is a relationship between knowledge and attitude with the provision of basic immunizations in the Medan Poskeskel Clinic in 2018.
The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes with the provision of complete basic immunization in the Clinic of Health Clinic in 2018. It is recommended to health workers to increase knowledge of mothers in immunization so that babies can avoid infectious diseases.
