Abstract
Male Contraception is contraception used by men to avoid pregnancy. Based on Teunom Sub District data in 2017 the number of contraceptive uses was 1,172 people, and condom contraceptive use was 10 people (0.8%), and no EFA used vasectomy contraception. Whereas in Lueng Gayo the use of contraception was 161 with the use of condom contraception as many as 2 people (1.2%), and there were no EFA in Lueng Gayo who used vasectomy contraception. This study aims to determine the factors related to the use of male contraception in Lueng Gayo, Teunom Sub District, Aceh Jaya District in 2018.
The type of research was an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach with a total population of 161 people. The sampling technique was done by using Slovin formula as many as 62 EFA. The sampling technique used random sampling. The types of data were primary, secondary and tertiary data. The data were analyzed by performing chi-square analysis test.
The results of the study used the results of statistical tests showed that knowledge factors related with the use of male contraception with a significant level of 0.039, attitude factors related with the use of male contraception with a significant level of 0.00, educational factors related with the use of male contraception with a significant level of 0.02, source factors information related to the use of male contraception with a significant level of 0.00, the factor of health personnel related with the use of male contraception with a significant level of 0.00.
It was suggested to EFA in Lueng Gayo, Teunom Sub District to increase knowledge about male contraception through newspapers, TV and the internet and it is expected to the health workers to maximize counseling about male contraception in Lueng Gayo, Teunom Sub District.
