Introduction : Everyone would agree if it was said that hair is a crown, especially for womwn. Generally women want beautiful and long hair. Therefore we must know how to care for hair, besides that you can utilize this ability to open a hair care business. Rice staw contains plafonoid, polyphenol, protein, iron and vitamin B1. Based on the compounds, rice straw can be used as shampoo. This study aims to formulate rice straw into shampoo. Method : used experimental research. Rice straw is soaked for one night, and the formula is made with variations with a concentration of 15%. 20%, 25%. Wish the test parameters are homogeneity test, pH test, foam height test, irritasion test, and organoleptic test. Results : showed that the shampoo preparations of rice straw met the parameters of the shampoo quality, homogenity test (in the absence of visible coarse grains against all shampoo formulas, pH test which was still safe interval, scalp PH of 4,5-5,5, test irritasion that gives a negative result on the irritasion reaction observed, organoleptic test ( thicker, the higher the contraction of color produced, the stronger, does not cause the smell of rice straw, typical of perfume). Conclution : Based on this study it can be concluded that rice straw can be formulated as a shampoo preparation. Based on the need to do further research on rice straw so that the resulting shampoo is better.
