Abstract

Pharmacy service standards in hospitals determine the quality of care and maintain patient safety. Pharmacy services at the Simeulue Regional General Hospital have not found the standards and have not been carried out properly. This study aims to obtain an overview of the implementation of pharmaceutical services in Simeulu Regional General Hospital in 2018.
The design of this study is qualitative research with a descriptive method approach. The key informants in this study were the Director of Home Medicine for Simeulue and head of pharmacy division, 2 people, the main informants were pharmacists and assistant pharmacists with 2 people and triangulation/additional informants, 2 patients. Data processing techniques are carried out by organizing data, classifications and data categories and testing assumptions.
The results of the study that the implementation of assessment and prescription services are good, tracing drug use history is not going well, drug reconciliation is not going well, drug information is running well, counseling services tend to be poor, monitoring of drug therapy tends to be bad, monitoring side effects medicine tends to be bad and monitoring of drug levels in the blood tends to be bad.
The conclusion of this study that the implementation of pharmaceutical services at the Simeulue Regional General Hospital which is already good is the implementation of drug prescription and information services, while unfavorable pharmacy services are tracing drug use history, drug reconciliation, counseling services, monitoring drug therapy, monitoring side effects medicine and monitoring drug levels in the blood. Simeulue Regional General Hospital is advised to make efforts to fulfill all pharmaceutical activities in accordance with the Indonesian Ministry of Health Regulation No. 72 of 2016, plans the recruitment of pharmacists both pharmacists and pharmacist assistants and to further researchers to examine the same problems, but with different variables in relation to the implementation of pharmaceutical services.
