Abstract

Toxoid tetanus immunization (TT) aims to prevent the entry of Clostridium tetani bacteria that causes tetanus, with the presence of TT immunization, the mother and baby can be protected from various complications of nasocomial infection. The aim of this research is to find out the Relationship between Support and Participation in Conducting TT Immunization at Mother Hospital in the House of Birth in Medan City in 2018.
The design of this study was an analytical survey of cross sectional approaches. The population in this study were all pregnant women from January to July 2018 in maternity homes amounted 363 respondents with a total sample of 78 pregnant women using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis techniques used univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square test.
The results of this study indicate that the majority of mothers participate in TT immunization and get good family support as many as 41 people (52.6%), based on Chi-Square test results obtained p value = 0.007 <α = 0.05. This means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.
The conclusions There is a support relationship between participants in carrying out TT immunization in the hospital midwifery in 2018. It is recommended that health personnel in the maternity hospital provide counseling to pregnant women about TT immunization when the mother conducts an ANC examination and treats TT immunization during pregnancy.
