Abstract
As a married woman, childbirth is the most anticipated period. 15,000 of the approximately 4.5 million women giving birth state that there is fear and anxiety, where the level of anxiety is limited: mild anxiety, moderate anxiety, severe anxiety and panic. This study aim to find out the relationship of husbands’ support and the level of anxiety in maternity mothers at Pratama Niar Clinic in 2018.
This research uses quantitative research with analytical survey research design and cross sectional approach. The populations in this study were maternity mothers as many as 30 respondents and sampling in this study using accidental sampling. The data analysis was done by using statistical Pearson Chi-square test.
Based on the results of the study it can be seen that out of 30 respondents, there were 9 respondents (30.0%) did not worry, 15 respondents (50.0%) had mild anxiety levels and 6 respondents (20.0%) had moderate levels of anxiety, with statistical tests chi-square at 95% confidence level, α = 0.05 was obtained ρ = 0,000.
The conclusion of the study shows that there is support from the husband with the level of anxiety in maternity mothers at Pratama Niar Clinic, Patumbak Sub District of Deli Serdang District in 2018. It is expected that the maternity clinic can provide counseling about childbirth both to the mother and to her husband, so that the husband can understand his wife's condition and can provide full support during labor.
