Abstract
The stress faced by nurses in hospitals at work will greatly affect the quality of nursing services provided to patients. This study aims to analyze what factors influence work stress on nurses in the inpatient ward of Rantauprapat Hospital, Labuhanbatu Regency.
This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The study was conducted at Rantauprapat Hospital, Labuhanbatu Regency in September-October 2021. The number of samples was 82 nurses obtained by purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using Chi-square test and logistic regression.
The results showed that in the univariate analysis of 82 respondents, most of the respondents aged 36-45 years were 36 (43.9%), had a D3 Nursing education level as many as 45 (54.9%). In the bivariate analysis, it was found that there was an effect of workload (p= 0.000), work environment (p= 0.000), career development (p= 0.000), multiple role conflict (p= 0.000) on the work stress of nurses at Rantauprapat Hospital, Labuhanbatu Regency. In multivariate analysis, the most dominant variable on nurses' work stress at Rantauprapat Hospital, Labuhanbatu Regency, namely career development with p value 0.007, t count = 2.273 (r table = 0.2146).
Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that the hospital provide no less or excessive duties and responsibilities so that work stress on nurses does not occur
