Abstract
Bleeding is one of thecontributing causes of postpartum maternal mortality after hypertension. One of the causes of bleeding is caused by perineum rupture. Many women experience perineum rupture when giving birth to their first child. This will be exacerbated by a large baby’s weight or uncontrolled precipitation delivery. The results of preliminary studies that have been carried out in BPM EndangMinaharsi, A.Md.Keb in January-December 2015 there was a significant relationship between infant birth weight born with perineum rupture in spontaneous maternity at BPM EndangMinaharsiA.Md.Keb
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of newborn baby weight and parity with the degree of perineum rupture at normal delivery at the Sahara Midwife Clinic in Padangsidimpuan.
This research method used analytical survey design with cross sectional approach. The population of this study was all 71 delivery mothers. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique that is by looking at certain criteria and obtained a total sample of 47 respondents. Data collection techniques used secondary data or medical records. Data analysis techniques were done by using chi-square = .05. The results of the study on the weight of a newborn baby obtained p value = .004 and in maternal parity obtained p value = .000
The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between newborn baby weight and parity with the degree of perineum rupture at normal delivery at the Sahara Midwife Clinic in Padangsidimpuan. It is expected that midwives provide knowledge and provide advice to pregnant women about the relationship of newborn body weight and parity to the degree of perineum rupture at normal delivery.
