Abstract
Cervical cancer is a life-threatening disease, causing health problems in women of childbearing age, low quality of life, feeling helpless and useful in life and death. Visitation of Childbearing Age (CA)to carry out IVA examinations from August to December 2017 an average of 71 people (21%) and was found 10 people diagnosed with cervical cancer. This study aims to determine the factors that affect the interest of childbearing age in early detection of cervical cancer using IVA method at Tanjung Morawa Health Centre in 2018.
This the research was analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The population were CA amounted 20-45 years with a sample size of 102 people. Data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate and multivariate.
The results showed that the role of friends has the strongest influence on the interest of women of childbearing age in early detection of cervical cancer (p = 0,000) with an Exp (B) value of 6.770, a prevalence rate of 2.857 and a confidence interval (CI) between 1.464-5.577, that the high role of friends influences 6.770 times greater interest in CA in early detection of cervical cancer using the inspection visual of the acetic acid method at Tanjung Morawa Health Centre in 2018.
The conclusion is there is the influence of knowledge, attitudes, access to information, the role of husband and the role of friends on the interest of CA in conducting early detection of cervical cancer using the IVA method. It is recommended to Tanjung Morawa Health Centre provide health promotion to increase public knowledge, especially presenting CA who have carried out early detection of cervical cancer or cervical cancer sufferers as counsellors to increase CA interest.
