Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a direct infectious disease and is a major threat to human resource development so it needs to get more serious attention from all parties. The purpose of this research is to analyze the factors that influence the compliance of Pulmonary TB BTA (+) patients in taking medicine at 5 Districts of Toba Samosir Regency in 2019
This type of research is analytical survey with a retrospective design. The study was conducted at 5 Districts of Toba Samosir Regency in 2019. The sampling was using purposive sampling techniques amount 60 respondents and analyzed by logistic regression test.
Based on the results of the study note that there was a relationship of knowledge (p = .003), family support (p = 0,000), taking medicibe supervisors (p = 0,000), health care providers (p = .001), socioeconomic (p = 0,000) related to taking medicine compliance. While those not related to taking medicine compliance were attitudes (p = .0322), availability of OAT (p = .171), attitudes of health workers (p = .306)
Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the factors that influence the compliance in taking medicine at 5 Districts of Toba Samosir Regency in 2019 are attitudes, availability of OAT and Attitudes of Health Workers. It is suggested that this study are expected that patients with pulmonary TB can get more knowledge so that they are obedient in swallowing anti-tuberculosis drugs.
