Abstract
Abortion is one cause of high maternal and infant mortality. Abortion case that happened in general hospital region Dr. Achmad Mochtar Bukittinggi has increased in the last two years, 121 cases in 2016 and 128 cases in 2017. Factors that affect the occurrence of abortion include fetal factors, maternal factors and factors of the father. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that affect the incidence of abortion in general hospital region Dr. Achmad Mochtar Bukittinggi.
Type of observational observational study with cross sectional approach. Population counted 135 mothers who had young pregnancy bleeding with total sample technique Data collection using cheklist sheet. Univariate analysis with frequency distribution technique, bivariate analysis with Chi-Square formula and multivariate analysis with Logistic Regression test.
The results of this study indicate that the age and distance of pregnancy affect the incidence of abortion (p = 0.005) with OR 14.319, the distance of pregnancy (p = 0.046) with OR 10.320, while the parity does not affect the incidence of abortion (p = 0.088), history of abortion (p = 0.997), infection (p = 1,000), Hb level (p = 0.817) and Chronic disease (p = 0.999).
Suggested for people especially pregnant women to conduct regular antenatal care visits at health facilities, conduct Hb checks, be more active in seeking health information, participate in counseling conducted by health workers so that problems can be detected early in pregnancy so that pregnancy can proceed with good and do not experience complications until delivery. And it is expected that hospital management is more thorough and careful in recording and reporting medical records.
