Abstract
Sectio Caesarea (SC) is a delivery in which the fetus is born through an incision in the front wall of the abdomen and uterine wall, provided that the uterus is intact and the weight of the fetus is above 4000 grams. In Indonesia, the delivery of the cesarean section method is not a new thing, this is proven by the increasing number of caesarean sections in the last 10 years in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the decision of Sectio Caesarea (SC) in women giving birth at Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia Hospital, Medan in 2019.
This type of research is a mix method research using analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The study population was 615 mothers. The number of samples of this study were 86 respondents. Multivariate analysis used logistic regression tests.
The results showed that the most dominant factor influencing the decision of Caesarean section (SC) showed that the variable age (p = 0.000 <α 0.05), parity (p = 0.012 <α 0.05), premature rupture of membranes (p = 0.000 <α 0.05), the location of the latitude (p = 0.000 <α 0.05), the location of the buttocks (p = 0.035 <α 0.05).
The conclusion of this study is the most dominant factor influencing the decision of Caesarean section (SC). The results show that the variables of age, parity, premature rupture of membranes, location of latitude and position of the buttocks influence the decision of Caesarean section (SC) in RSU. Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia in 2019. It is recommended that mothers always have their pregnancy checked by health personnel to detect complications early in pregnancy and childbirth so that they will not experience Caesarean section (SC).
