Abstract
Data from the Simeulue District Health Office shows that in 2018 the number of women giving birth was 2,422. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence mothers to choose the place of delivery.
This type of research is an analytic survey with a retrospective design. Research at Alafan Health Center, Simeulue Regency. This population was 68 people, all of which were sampled. Univariate data analysis, bivariate using chi-square and multivariate using multiple logistic regression 95% ( = 0.05).
The results showed variables that influenced mothers to choose the place of delivery in the work area of the Alafan Health Center in Simeulue Regency were attitude, access to health facilities, needs (p <0.05), while the variables that did not affect were knowledge, JKN participant participation, husband / family support (p> 0.05). The most influential variable on the choice of place of delivery is attitude. Mothers who are positive, have the opportunity to choose a place of delivery in a health facility by 20.3 times higher than respondents who are negative.
The conclusion is that attitude, access to health facilities, needs influence the mother in choosing the place of delivery. It is recommended that health workers provide counseling or health education to every pregnant woman who conducts a health examination, especially those who will give birth to have a positive attitude, the importance of delivery assistance by health workers to prefer giving birth in health facilities.
