Abstract
During this time, the role of childbirth companions was not given much care. Many husbands gave birth support to parents, in-laws and health workers.
This type of research is quasy experimental with pretest-posttest with control group design. The research was conducted at the Simpang Kanan Health Center in Aceh Singkil District. The study population was 40 people and all of them were sampled (total sampling). Data analysis was carried out univariate, bivariate analysis used independent sample t-test.
The results showed that there were differences in the knowledge of the husband in accompanying labor before and after being given an intervention at the Simpang Kanan Health Center in Aceh Singkil District, p = 0,000. There was a difference in the husband's attitude in assisting childbirth before and after the intervention at Simpang Kanan Health Center in Aceh Singkil District, p = 0,000. There was a difference in the husband's attitude in assisting childbirth in the intervention group and the control group at Simpang Kanan Health Center in Aceh Singkil District, p = 0.006. There is a difference in the role of the husband in assisting childbirth in the intervention group and the control group at the Simpang Kanan Health Center in Aceh Singkil District, p = 0,000
The conclusion of this study is that health promotion using booklet media influences the participation of the husband in accompanying childbirth. It is recommended that health workers at the Simpang Kanan Health Center in Aceh Singkil District to provide health promotion using a booklet to the husband and wife who will give birth about the role of the husband when accompanying childbirth
