Abstract

Anemia by lay people is known as lack of blood. Anemia is a disease in which the levels of hemoglobin (Hb) in the blood are less than normal. Pregnancy anemia is pregnant women with hemoglobin levels <11 gr% in trimesters I and III or hemoglobin <10 gr% in trimester II. World Health Organization (WHO) in 2017 reported that globally the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women around the world was 41.8%. It is known, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women in Asia is 48.2% based on the results of basic health research the incidence of anemia in Indonesia is still high, there are 37.1% of pregnant women who are anemic. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the West Langsa Health Center in Langsa City in 2019.
This research uses qualitative research with analytic survey research design and cross sectional approach. The population in this study were 30 pregnant women and respondents in this study used a total population. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-square statistical test.
The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between knowledge and anemia with the statistical test results obtained (p-value 0.002), there is a relationship between regularity of consuming Fe tablets with anemia (p-value 0.024), there is a relationship between family income and anemia (p-value .343).
It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between knowledge, regularity of consuming Fe tablets, and family approach with anemia in langsa west puskesmas in langsa city in 2019. It is expected that health workers at the puskesmas can provide counseling about pregnancy to pregnant women regarding the risk of anemia in their pregnancy. and make early detection to prevent anemia.
