Abstract

Background: According to data from the Indonesia Demographic Health Survey (IDHS) in 2017 breastfeeding according to the child's age. Half (52%) of children under 6 months receive exclusive breastfeeding. preliminary survey results were conducted in the form of interviews in March there were 15 respondents namely mothers who have children aged 0-23 months, there are 7 mothers who wean their children under the age of 2 years, this is because mothers work, get pregnant again, breast pain. Objectives: This study was to determine the factors associated with early weaning in infants aged 4-24 months in Dewantara Health Center, North Aceh Regency in 2019. Method: This type of research is analytic survey with cross sectional approach. The population used in this study is mothers who have babies 4-24 months, namely 166 people in the Dewantara Health Center in North Aceh Regency in 2019. The sample in this study were 62 people with random sampling techniques. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis with a 0.05 chi-square statistical test. Result: Based on the results of research with the chi-square statistical test shows that education with p value = 0.046 then p (0.046) <a (0.05), work with p value = 0.006 then p (0.006) <a (0.05), knowledge with p value = 0.037, then p (0.037) <a (0.05). Conclusion: This study proves that there is a relationship between education, work and knowledge of mothers in early weaning in 2019. It is expected that health workers can provide counseling and education about early weaning to be able to increase the knowledge of mothers in understanding breastfeeding, so mothers can know well about weaning early.
