Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDG`s) 2016-2030 Nutrition is one of the focuses of health development. Nutrition is a key factor in the success of the health of the people of Indonesia and the world. This study aims to determine the associated factors with exclusive breastfeeding which includes work factors, knowledge, attitudes, husband's support and support of health workers in Aluer Beurawe Village.
This type of research was an analytic survey with cross-sectional design. The population were maternal who have infants aged 6-12 months amounted 36 people as the sample. Data collection techniques with primary and secondary. The analysis used univariate and bivariate analyses with Chi-square Test.
The results showed that mothers who did not give exclusive breastfeeding to their infants were 22 people (61.1%) and those who gave exclusive breastfeeding were 14 people (38.9%). After a Chi-square test on the variables of work, knowledge, attitudes, husband's support, and support of health workers found that there was a significant relationship between maternal work and exclusive breastfeeding (.005), there was a relationship between maternal knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding (.001 ), there is a relationship between maternal attitudes and exclusive breastfeeding (.002), there is a relationship between husband support and exclusive breastfeeding (.006), there is a relationship between health care provider support and exclusive breastfeeding (0.039)
It is recommended for health workers and husbands to provide services and support that is more optimal in terms of providing good and correct knowledge and information to community, especially to mothers about the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding.
