Abstract
Effect of Effectiveness of Nutrition Counseling on Knowledge, Attitudes and Actions of Consumption of Snack Foods for Public Elementary School Students in Lubuk Pakam Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency in 2019. (Supervised by Asyiah Simanjorang and Anto).
The selection of snacks at school is a manifestation of student behavior. There are still many hawker students thought to be related to insufficient knowledge, attitudes and actions, so that nutrition counseling needs to be given. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the effectiveness of nutrition counseling on knowledge, attitudes and actions of elementary school student snacks consumption. This research is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental research type with the pretest-posttest group design. The study was conducted at 105349 Paluh Kemiri Elementary School and 107422 Pagar Jati Elementary School. The number of research samples as many as 60 people, and divided into 2 groups with a total of 30 people each. Data analysis using t test (paired sample t-test) with a confidence level of 95% ( = 0.05). The results showed that there was an effect of the effectiveness of nutrition counseling on knowledge, attitudes, and actions of students eating snacks in elementary school, both by using powerpoints (p = 0,000) and using leaflets (p = 0,000). The average score of students' knowledge, attitudes, and actions increases from pretest to posttest and higher increases in the use of powerpoint media. It is recommended to teachers in SD Negeri 105349 Paluh Kemiri and SD Negeri 107422 Pagar Jati to teach about the behavior of choosing healthy snacks related to knowledge, attitudes, actions to students in grades I through grade 6 so that students always choose healthy foods and are not affected by diseases such as disorders digestion due to unhealthy snacks.
