Abstract
The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended a gold standard for infant feeding, namely exclusive breastfeeding from birth to age 6 months, preceded by Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) immediately after birth, starting at age 6 months, providing complimentary feeding (MP-ASI). Exclusive breastfeeding is still low at 7.8% among babies who are breastfed for up to 6 months and the average length of exclusive breastfeeding is only 1.6 months. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the provision of complimentary feeding in early at WIPA Clinic.
The study was an analytic survey research with cross-sectional approach. Sampling technique were taken by using a total sampling of 33 mothers who have babies 4-6 months. Data were collected with primary, secondary and tertiary data.
Based on the results of knowledge research, it is known that the p-value=.031< α-value=.05, the economy is known the p-value=.020 <α-value=.05, the culture is known the p-value=.001 < α-value=.05, the role of officers known p-value =0.000 < α=.05, family support known p-value=.006 < α=.05, motivation known p-value=0.000 <α=.05.
The conclusion of this study showed that there is a relationship of knowledge, economy, culture, the role of health workers, family support and motivation with the provision of early complimenatry feeding at WIPA Clinic in 2019. It is recommended for health workers to increase the frequency of counseling through making lefleats about the exact time of administration complimetary feeding
