Abstract
In 2018 the number of marriages in the Banda Sakti District of Lhokseumawe was 553 couples, based on data only 143 bride and groom were registered to have tetanus toxoid immunization 50% of brides did not immunize tetanus toxoid. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the Tetanus Toxoid immunization of prospective brides in the Banda Sakti District of Lhokseumawe.
This study was a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods. The study was conducted in the Banda Sakti District of Lhokseumawe. The population was 42 people and all taken as a sample. Univariate and bivariate quantitative analysis used chi-square and multivariate using multiple logistic regression at 95% confidence level (α=.05). Qualitative is analyzed by reduction, data display and verification.
The results showed that variables influencing the prospective bride's tetanus toxoid immunization were knowledge (p=.003<.05), attitude (p=.001<.05) trust (p=.000<.05). Variables that did not affect were education (p=.741>.05) and employment (p=.584>.05). The most dominant variable affecting is the trust variable. The results of interviews with 5 informants, found that the factors that influence the tetanus toxoid immunization are trust, namely trusting immunization is prohibited.
The conclusion of the study was the immunization of tetanus toxoid for the bride and groom was influenced by 3 factors, namely knowledge, attitudes and beliefs. The most dominant factor is trust. It is hoped that health workers will increase the promotion and counselling of tetanus toxoid immunization for brides-to-be by focusing more on changing people's beliefs in a more positive direction.
