Abstract

Based on WHO in 2017, data of 830 women die every day due to complications during pregnancy or childbirth. Based on preliminary surveys from the February 2019 report in Lena Barus Binjai clinic, found from 7 postpartum mothers, only 3 people treated perineal wounds, 4 people never treated perineal wounds. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the Relationship of Postpartum Wound Perineum Wound Care with Wound Healing Process in Lena Barus Clinic in 2019. Method; The study used an observational method with a cross-sectional approach. The population was all postpartum mothers (0-40 days) from March to August who gave birth at Lena Barus Clinic in 2019, namely 60 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Results: The results were obtained from 30 respondents of perineum wound care with postpartum wound healing process, from 2 respondents who had poor wound care and slow wound healing by 2 respondents (6.7%), from 1 respondent who had adequate wound care with normal wound healing amounted 1 respondents (3.3%) and from 27 respondents who treated good injuries with fast wound healing as many as 9 respondents (30.0%) and normal wound healing as many as 18 respondents (60.0%). Chi-square test results showed a p-value=0.00<α .05,Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between Perineum Wound care and the wound healing process at Lena Barus Clinic in 2019. It is recommended for postpartum mothers to improve wound care by cleaning the pubic area every day.
