Abstract

Peel-off gel mask is a practical mask, after drying the mask can be immediately removed without causing pain. This mask can also restore the freshness and softness of the skin, even with regular use can reduce fine wrinkles on facial skin. Moringa plants contain antioxidants, especially the leaves that contain flavonoids that can be used as a source of natural antioxidants. Honey contains Vitamin C which has antioxidant properties so it is often used for facial beauty and skin smoothness. This study aims to determine the extract of Moringa Oleifera Lam) with honey combination (Mel depuratum) can be formulated in the form of peel-off gel mask with concentrations of 1%, 2% and 3%.

The extraction method in this study was the maceration method using 70% ethanol then continued with the peel-off gel mask formulation with concentrations of 1%, 2% and 3%. Tests for preparations made include organoleptic, pH, homogeneity, dispersion, dry time, irritation, preference and determination tests.

The results showed that the peel-off gel mask preparations were all homogeneous, organoleptic test showed a deep green color and aromatic therapeutic aroma. The pH test shows an average pH of 7.0 to 8.3. The resulting spread test is 5.4 to 6.3 cm. The test results dry out 15-25 minutes. The irritation test on volunteers did not show any irritation reaction.

The conclusion from the results obtained that Moringa leaf extract and honey can be formulated in a gel peel-off mask preparation with a concentration variation of 1%, 2% and 3%.
