Abstract
Visual inspection of acetic acid (VIA) is an examination of the cervix by looking directly with the naked eye after daubing the cervix with 3-5% acetic acid solution. The purpose of this study was to determine factors related to VIA examination in women of fertile age couples in the area of Satria Health Centre, Tebing Tinggi City in 2019.
This type of research is analytic using a cross sectional approach. The population was all maternal of childbearing age were 930 respondents. The samples in this study were 90 people using the Slovin Formula with Probability Sampling Technique. Data analysis techniques used Univariate Analysis to determine the frequency distribution and Bivariate Analysis using the Chi-square Test.
Based on the results of the analysis using the Chi-square Test, obtained the value of Work p-value (.001) <α (.05), Knowledge p-value (.001)<α (.05), Attitude p-value (.002)<α(.05), Mileage p-value (.051) <α (.05), and husband Support p-value (.004)<α(.05).
The conclusion from the researchers is that there is a relationship between work, knowledge, attitude and husband's support in VIA Examination. and it is hoped that health workers at the Satria Community Health Centre can improve the knowledge and attitudes of women of childbearing age couples by increasing education and providing health education to the community.
