Abstract
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is one of the most infectious diseases and causes of death in children in developing countries. Based on a preliminary survey of researchers conducted, it was found that the number of ARI diseases in infants at the Deleng Pokhisen Community Health Center in November 2018 totaled 48 infants. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the high ARI in infants.
The research design used in this study was cross sectional. The population in this study were 218 under-five mothers and samples taken by random sampling were 69 respondents. Data collection methods are primary and secondary data. Analysis of the data used binary logistic regression test.
The results showed that knowledge has a sig-p was .016<.05, an attitude has a sig-p was .610>.05, exclusive breastfeeding has a sig-p was .004<.05, has a ventilation sig-p was .040<.05 and occupancy density has a sig-p of .014<.05.
The conclusion in this study there is the influence of knowledge, exclusive breastfeeding, ventilation and occupancy density on the high ARI in infants, while attitudes have no influence on the high ARI in infants. It is hoped that this research can be used as a source of explanation and input for Puskesmas to improve information provision to mothers and the community in the form of counseling or health promotion so that the community can further improve their behavior in preventing ARI.
