Abstract

Breast is one part of the body that is owned by every woman. Every woman will be happy if having healthy breasts. Maintaining breast health is maintaining reproductive health, but what happens if the breast has a disease that is breasting cancer. Based on the World Health Organization (WHO) 2018 the global cancer burden increased to 18.1 million new cases and 9.6 million deaths from cancer, in breast cancer there were 2.09 million cases with the percentage of deaths from breast cancer amounting to 627,000. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine factors related to breast cancer in women of childbearing age at Vina Estetica General Hospital Medan. Methods: This research uses analytical survey method with cross sectional approach. The sampling with secondary data using medical record data. The study populations were 61 people, taken by the total population and tested using chi-square. Result: Variables related to breast cancer were age (p = .013), parity (p = .027) and obtained no relationship to family health history (p = .094). Conclusion: Based on the results of the study concluded that there is a relationship between age and parity with breast cancer and there is no relationship of family health history with breast cancer in women of childbearing age in Vina Estetica General Hospital Medan in 2019.
