Abstract

The high number of nosocomial infections is an important problem in a hospital. One of the most important things in reducing the spread of nosocomial infections is by hand hygiene. Hand Hygiene is a practice for hand hygiene using antiseptic penhand hygiene. The study aims to analyze the effect of motivation and training on nurse performance in Inpatient Hospital Rooms of Cut Meutia Hospital (RSCM) Langsa in 2018.
The study design used quantitative analytical surveys with crossectional designs. The population was 47 nurses inpatient care at RSCM Langsa. The sampling technique used the total population. Data analysis was performed by univariate, bivariate and multivariate analyses with chi_square.
The results of the Chi-Square statistical test obtained the value of p-value = 0.003 <α 0.05, meaning that there is a relationship between knowledge and compliance of nurses in doing Hand Hygiene, the results of the analysis of Chi-Square statistical test obtained p-value = 0.000 < α 0.05, meaning that there is a relationship between attitudes and compliance of nurses in doing Hand Hygiene. The results of the Chi-Square statistical test analysis obtained the value of p-value = 0.659 <α 0.05, it means that there is no relationship between facilities and nurse compliance in doing Hand Hygiene. The results of the Chi-Square statistical analysis obtained p-value = 0.085 > α 0.05, it means that there was no relationship between them role of the Infection Prevention and Control Team (PPI Team) and the compliance of nurses in doing Hand Hygiene. From the results of multivariate analysis, it was found that the most influential factor in this study was the attitude variable, where positive attitudes further increased compliance opportunities by 45.681 times compared to negative attitudes.
The conclusion is that there is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes with nurses' compliance in making hand hygiene and the most dominant factor in this study is the attitude variable, where positive attitudes further increase compliance opportunities by 45, 681 times compared to negative attitudes. It is recommended for nurses to be more obedient in carrying out hand hygiene and increase knowledge and attitudes in carrying out hand hygiene actions
