Abstract
ervical cancer is a leading cause of death for women in the world. Every year, around 470,000 women worldwide are diagnosed with cervical cancer, 230,000 of whom die. New cases are found in an advanced stage, because of the low participation in screening (IVA). The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the factors that influence maternal behavior in the implementation of IVA tests in the work area of Hutarakyat Health Center, Dairi Regency in 2019.
This type of research design is quantitative research with analytic research design with cross sectional design. The study was conducted in February-August 2019 in the working area of the Hutarakyat Community Health Center in Dairi Regency. The population of mothers aged 30-50 years is 3,249 people. Sampling is using the Proportional Random Sampling technique and accidental sampling as many as 96 people. Data collection using a questionnaire. Analysis of the data used is univariate, bivariate (Chi square) analysis. And multivariate (logistic regression test)
The results showed that the most dominant variable affecting behavior in implementing IVA tests was the source of information with a p value of 0.001 and an Exp (B) value of 548,939. This means that respondents who do not get access to information sources have the risk to influence the level of behavior in the implementation of IVA tests by 548,939 times more than those who get access to information sources.
For health workers to be more proactive in counseling and providing information on the importance of IVA examinations by using attractive media, providing brochures / leaflets both at health facilities / spiritual activities.
