Abstract
According to WHO, in the year 2016 PMS has a higher prevalence in Asian countries compared to western countries. PMS is an inconvenience or physical and mental symptoms that arise when women will experience menstrual cycles. This research aims to determine the factors related to the occurrence of PMS (premenstrual syndrome) in young women in MTsN 1 Nagan Raya District Seunagan Nagan Raya District year 2019.
This research is an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted at MTsN 1 Nagan Raya from February-August 2019. The population in this study was all the young women in MTsN 1 Nagan Raya as many as 154 people and samples of 60 people. Data is obtained using an observation sheet, data analysis consists of univariate analysis and bivariate. The Bivariate analysis uses the Chi Square statistical test at α = 5%.
Results showed with statistical test results using Chi Square test, for knowledge variables obtained calculation results p value = 0.116 > α 0.05, then Ho accepted and for variable stress, consumption patterns, sports pattern obtained results Calculation p value = 0.000 < α 0.05, then Ho rejected and Ha accepted.
Conclusion of this research is no knowledge relationship with Premenstrual Syndrome and there is a Stress relationship, consumption patterns, sports patterns with Premenstrual Syndrome at MTsN 1 Nagan Raya District Seunagan Nagan Raya subdistrict year 2019. It is recommended that respondents keep the pattern of consumption and routine exercise, and learn to control excess stress by learning the relaxation techniques to minimize stress.
