Abstract
Maderavine plant (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) is one of the plants that can be used for
treatment. It contains alkaloids, flavonoids, polyphenols, saponins, triterpenoids, and essential oils. Jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.) contains saponins, flavonoids, and tannins. Saponin, flavonoid, and tannin can work as antimicrobial agents and stimulate new cell growth in wounds. Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of ointment combination of maderavine leaves and jackfruit leaves extract in cuts and to determine differences in the effectiveness of ointments as the treatment. Method: In this study, maderavine leaves and jackfruit leaves were extracted by maceration using 70% solvent. Maceration was concentrated in the rotary evaporator. Then it was formulated in the form of ointment and tested on organoleptic, homogeneity, spreadability, pH and cuts treatment activity in mice. Result: The results of cuts treatment activity showed that F1 1:1 on day 9, F2 1:2 day 6, F3 2:1 on day 5, positive control was on day 6, negative control was on day 11. The results showed the ability of ointment combination of maderavine leaves extract and jackfruit leaves to treats cuts in mice. Conclusion: The conclusion of combination of maderavine leaves and jackfruit leaves can be formulated in ointment dosage form as seen from the organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, and spreadability test as well as providing the effect of cuts treatment power in mice and the most effective healing power is formula 3 2:1.
