Abstract

Gestational hypertension is a sign of chronic hypertension. About 20-25% of patients with chronic hypertension have preeclampsia and one third of patients with gestational hypertension have preeclampsia. Hypertension in pregnancy is a major cause of maternal mortality. This study aims to determine the Factors Associated with Gestational Hypertension in Manggeng Health Centre, Southwest Aceh District in 2019.
This research is an analytical survey with cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted at Manggeng Health Centre from March-July 2019. The population of this study was pregnant women trimester II and III in June, totaling 56 respondets using total sampling. Data obtained using a questionnaire, data analysis consisted of univariate and bivariate analysis. Bivariate analysis were done by using chi-square statistical tests at α=5%.
The results showed statistical test results using the chi square test between Lifestyle with Gestational Hypertension, p-value=0.000<α=.05, between Genetic and Gestational Hypertension Occurrence obtained p-value=0.000<α=.05, between Maternal Age and The incidence of Gestational Hypertension obtained p-value=0.000<α=.05, then the hypothesis is accepted.
The conclusion of this study is the relationship between Lifestyle, Genetics, Age and the Occurrence of Gestational Hypertension in Manggeng Health Centre, Southwest Aceh District in 2019. It is recommended that respondents maintain their lifestyle by consuming food according to the needs and recommendations of the midwife, and are expected to frequently control their blood pressure during pregnancy.
