Abstract

In 2017 in Medan the number of pneumonia cases or the target of under-fives who needed pneumonia was 7,575 cases, but the number found was 592 cases (7.8%). The purpose of this study was to study the ability of officers to find cases of toddler pneumonia in Medan City Health Center in 2018.
The study design uses descriptive quantitative research using cross sectional. The study was conducted in September 2018 with a total population of 39 ISPA officers and sampling techniques using a total population. The technique of collecting data uses primary, secondary and tertiary data. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate with chi-squre test.
The results showed that the results of statistical tests using the chi-square test showed the academic ability of ISPA with p-value = 0.017, the emotional ability of ISPA officers with p-value = 0.0018 and the ability of ISPA security officers with p-value = 0.002.
It can be argued that there is a relationship between the ability of ISPA officers in finding cases of under-five pneumonia in Medan City Health Center in 2018. It is necessary for Medan City Health Office to evaluate the related inputs, processes and programs. ARI is related to the achievement of the target achievement of pneumonia toddlers.
