Abstract
Posyandu is a form of Community Resources Health Efforts (UKBM) which is managed from, by, for and with the community, in order to obtain basic health services. Cadres are the central point in the implementation of posyandu activities, thus it is necessary to increase the knowledge and understanding of posyandu cadres regarding posyandu. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of cadres and cadre obstacles in the implementation of Posyandu activities in the Titipanjang Hamlet in the Work Area of Bunut Health Center in Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency in 2019.
This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The informants in this study were 10 people, consisting of 4 mothers who have toddlers, 4 posyandu cadres, 1 health worker and 1 posyandu chairperson. Data analysis uses descriptive qualitative and the validity of the data used is data triangulation.
The results showed that the cadres had not yet carried out their overall roles starting from before implementation, during implementation and monitoring after the implementation of the posyandu. Barriers experienced by cadres are cadre's lack of knowledge about posyandu because they do not receive training, especially new cadres who lack experience due to frequent formation reforms, lack of supporting equipment for cadre activities and access roads that do not support the implementation of information dissemination.
The conclusion in this study is the role of cadres in the implementation of posyandu activities in the work area of Bunut Public Health Center, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency in 2019, which has not been carried out optimally. It is recommended to posyandu cadres and immunization officers to further enhance the counseling program for mothers about posyandu and the benefits of implementing posyandu for mothers and toddlers.
