Abstract
Gel mask form has several advantages including the use of an easy, dry fast, can be removed or removed. objektif; To find out that sweet orange peel extract (Citrus sinensis L) can be formulated into a gel mask dosage form.Method; This study was an experimental method of gel mask preparation formulation consisting of components such as sweet orange peel, Polyvinyl alcohol, HPMC, Glycerin, TEA, Propylparaben, Methylparaben, Aquades, and 70% ethanol with a concentration of 2.5%, 5.0%, 7.5%, 10.0% Making sweet orange peel extract by washing, cutting, drying and smoothing. Tests for gel mask preparations were made including, homogeneity test, pH test, power test time of the preparation dried up, spreadability test, organoleptic test, and irritation test using 15 volunteers. Result; Gel mask preparation formulations using sweet orange peel extract as an active ingredient are made quite stable, the pH range is 4.0-7.0 so it is safe to use. Conclusion; The conclusion from the study of sweet orange peel extract can be used as an additional active ingredient in gel mask preparations, the higher the ratio of addition of sweet orange peel extract, the resulting pH is lower and obtain pH preparations that meet the criteria of a good gel mask, the results of irritation test gel mask preparations are all in negative category (-) which means that all preparations do not cause irritation, and preparations do not change in shape, color, or aroma.
