Abstract

Lung tuberculosis (TB) is a health problem. Compliance with the use of tuberculosis drugs (OAT) is important because it will cause resistance to OAT or what is called Multi Drugs Resistance (MDR). The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that influence the study of pulmonary TB sufferers in taking anti-tuberculosis drugs at the Polonia Health Center in Medan in 2019.
This type of research is an analytic survey with cross sectional study design. This research was conducted at the Polonia Health Center in Medan. The study population was Category I Lung Tuberculosis patients who were visited at Polonia Health Center Medan from October - November 2019, the sample was obtained with a total sampling of 48 people. Data were analyzed with Chi Square and Logistic Regression.
Based on the results of research known as many as 36-45 years which is equal to 24 (50.00%), male sex as many as 31 (64.58%), high school graduates are 21 (43.75%) respondents. Based on bivariate analysis results obtained p-value <0.05, namely the knowledge factor (p = 0.004), attitude (p = 0.000), perception (p = 0.007), family support (p = 0.008), and the supervisor taking medication (p = 0,000) to the consumption of anti-tuberculosis drugs in Medan Polonia Health Center in 2019.
Based on these results it was concluded that the factors that influence patients in taking anti-tuberculosis drugs in Medan Polonia Health Center in 2019 are knowledge, attitudes, perceptions, family support, and supervision of taking medication for patients. With the results of this study it is expected that the Head of Polonia Medan Health Center in order to be able to increase the knowledge of patients, families, and the community against pulmonary TB by providing counseling in the form of counseling, leaflets, and videos about pulmonary TB.
