Abstract
Lip cream or liquid lipstick is more in demand by teenagers today, with a variety of color variants. Tamarillo peel contain antioxidants that can ward off free radicals and anthocyanin which can be used as natural dyes. This study aims to make a lip cream form formulation from ethanol extracts of Tamarillo peel (Solanum betaceum) with different concentrations.
This research was done experimentally, including the making of lip cream of Tamarillo peel (Solanum betaceum) ethanol extract with concentration of 4%, 6% and 8%. Examination of form physical quality were organoleptic, homogeneity, stability, smearing, adhesion, pH, irritation and preference tests were calculated manually.
The results obtained that all forms have good organoleptic, met the requirements of homogeneity test, good stability in Formula F0, F2 and F3, met the requirements of smear and stickiness test, the highest pH number obtained at F1 = 4, 8, did not irritate skin and the most preferred by the panelists was formula F3.
The conclusion of this research shows that the form of lip cream is brown and can be formulated in a lip cream. The higher the color concentration the browner, the more fluid the texture, and the resulting pH number decreases. It is suggested to further researchers to formulate lip cream form using dyes or other active substances.
