Abstract
The mangosteen peel (Garcinia mangostana L.) contains xanton flavonoids which have anti-inflammatory effects by triggering the formation of collagen which is maintaining the structure and healing of wounds. In addition, it also contains saponin, phenol and tannin compounds that have a wound effect to accelerate the burn process in male white mice. This study aims to determine the effect of the healing power of mangosteen peel (Garcinia mangostana L.) skin cream formulation as a burn medication in male white mice. This research was experimental study with descriptive data collection and continued taking average values using SPSS 17.0 with homogeneity test, ONE WAY ANOVA test and LSD (Least Significant Different) test stated significant p=(<.05), namely p=0.00. as on the 21st day stated significant because p=(<.05), namely p=0.00. to burns in male white mice with a total of 15 animals treated. The results indicated that the 5 treatment groups consisting of F0 (negative control) had an average percentage of burn healing 27%, F1 (concentration 5%) had an average percentage of burn healing 55%, F2 (concentration 10%) had an average burn percentage 67%, F3 (concentration 15%) has a mean percentage of burn healing 83%, as a comparison *Burnazin cream It was concluded that the process of accelerating burn healing in male white mice was shown in 70% ethanol extract of mangosteen peel with F3 (15% concentration), with a mean percentage of burn healing 83%. Suggestions for further research are to form the ethanol extract of mangosteen peel in another dosage form.
