Abstract
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2015, around 830 women died from complications of pregnancy or childbirth throughout the world every day. The incidence of premature rupture of membranes (PROM) in Indonesia is around 39.1%. Premature rupture of membranes is found in 6-20% of all pregnancies and 94% of them occur in term pregnancy. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of age, parity, occupation, history of PROM, multiple pregnancies and fetal location with PROM at Muhammadiyah General Hospital, North Sumatra in 2019.
This study used analytic survey with cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted in February-July 2019. The population in this study were all maternal who experienced Early Amniotic Disease PROM at Muhammadiyah Hospital in North Sumatra in 2018 with a total of 40 people. The sampling technique used total population. The data analysis method is by univariate and bivariate analysis by Chi-square test.
The results of this study indicate the p-value at age is .025<.05, at parity p=.114>.05, work p=.005<0.05, history of PROM p=.037<.05, in multiple pregnancy p=.096>0.05, at the location of the fetus p=.040<.05.
The conclusions in this study are the relationship of age, occupation, history of PROM and fetal location with Early Rupture Amniotic Disease at North Sumatra Muhammadiyah Hospital in 2019. It is recommended for Muhammadiyah Hospital of North Sumatra to provide information to maternal about the danger signs and complications in pregnancy, especially early rupture of membranes and provide counselling on PROM marks and also initial handling in the event of PROM.
