Abstract

PHYTOCHEMICAL SCREENING OF ETHANOL EXTRACT, ETHYL ACETATE, ONIONS N-HEXANE AS IDENTIFICATION OF
Plants that are often used as traditional medicine are onions that grow easily in almost all climates such as shallots (Allium cepa L.), dayak onions (Eleutherine americana), garlic (Allium sativum Linn), black onions (Allium sativum), onions (Allium cepa L. Var.), and Batak onions (Allium Chinense). The use of onion plants as traditional medicine varies greatly because all parts of the onion can be used as traditional medicine.
This research was a qualitative study used to examine natural objective conditions. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of active compounds in alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, anthraquinones, glycosides, cardiac glycosides and triterpenoids/steroids in onions as identification of secondary primary bioactive compounds in traditional medicine research.
From the results of this study obtained plants of onion, red onion, garlic, The results of this study indicated that the extract of Batak onions contains alkaloids and saponins. Shallot extract contains alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and cardiac glycosides. Garlic extract contains alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins. Dayak onion extract contains alkaloid compound, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, anthraquinones and cardiac glycosides. Onion extract contains alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, glycosides, anthraquinones and cardiac glycosides and black onion extracts contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, glycosides, anthraquinones and cardiac glycosides.
Based on the results of this study obtained plants of onion, red onion, garlic, dayak onions, onions and black onions contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, glycoside saponins, anthraquinones and cardiac glycosides.
