Abstract

According to WHO in 2018 contraceptive use has increased in many parts of the world. The use of modern contraception has increased significantly by 54%. there are still mothers who experience menstrual disorders and experience weight gain Hanna Kasih Clinic. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between menstrual disorders and acceptor with weight gain with 3 months of injection usage in Medan 2019.
The design of this study was an analytic survey with a cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted at the Hanna Kasih Clinic. The sample amounted 40 respondents from the entire population by using a total population technique. data were collected by using questionnaire sheets. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate data with the chi-square test.
Based on statistical tests with the chi-square test, the p-value was .033<.05, which showed that there was a relationship between menstrual disorders and 3-month injectable birth control and there was a relationship of weight gain with 3-month injectable birth control with a p-value of .015<.05.
The conclusion is a relationship between menstrual disorders and acceptor weight gain with the use of 3-month injectable birth control found. It is expected that health workers at the Pratama Clinic of Hanna Kasih Medan should provide counselling, especially for 3 months of injection contraception usage.
