Abstract
DHF is one of the health problems caused by the rapid course of the disease and can cause death. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of behavior and physical environment with the incidence of DHF in Kelurahan Kelurahan Gedung Johor Medan, Medan Johor Sub-District, Medan. This research used analytical survey method with case control approach. The study sample was 39 cases and 39 controls. Data collection through interviews and observations based on the questionnaire. Data analysis was performed univariately, bivariately using Chi-Square test. Chi-Square test analysis results showed the statistical value of each variable include the level of knowledge obtained p-value =0.515, preventive measures obtained p-value = .008 and OR = 5.496, the presence of Non-TPA p-value = .034 and OR = 3.167, and occupancy density p-value = .024 and OR = 3.826. The conclusion shows there is no relationship between the level of knowledge and the incidence of dengue fever, and there is a relationship between preventive measures, the presence of non-TPA and occupancy density at Kelurahan Gedung Johor, Medan Johor Sub-District, Medan.
