Abstract

THE EFFECT OF SMOKE LEVELS AND WORKER BEHAVIOR ON RESPIRATORY DISORDERS IN RIBBED SMOKE SHEET PROCESSING AT PTPN III KEBUN RANTAU PRAPAT IN 2019 ADINDA PUTRI SARI 1515192001 The value of smoke levels in PTPN III Kebun Rantau Prapat is included in the high category because it exceeds the NAV, which is> 0.5 mg / m3 so that it can cause breathing problems in workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of smoke levels and worker behavior on respiratory disorders in processing of ribbed smoke sheet at PTPN III Kebun Rantauprapat. This research used quantitative observational method with cross sectional approach. The population was all workers who work in the processing of ribbed smoke sheets totaling 34 people and all of them were sampled. The data were analyzed univariately, bivariately with chi-square test and multivariate with multiple linear regression tests. The results of the bivariate analysis in this study all included as candidates in multivariate analysis, namely the smoke level (p value = .008), knowledge (p value = .035), attitude (p value = .014), action (p value = .016). The most dominant variable related to the occurrence of respiratory disorders in the worker was the smoke content with a value of p = .003. The conclusion in this study shows that there is an effect of smoke levels, knowledge, attitudes and actions towards respiratory disorders in labor and smoke content is the most dominant variable. It is suggested that agencies must control/supervise exhouspen who are on the ceiling of the smoke room area so that they are well coordinated and provide intensive promotion of occupational health and safety to workers.
