Abstract
High rates of maternal and newborn mortality in Indonesia dutue quality of health services, health referral systems, implementation of the National Health Insurance, and local government policies related to health. The purpose of this study was to determine the Factors Affecting the Selection of Normal Childbirth Assistance in Bukit Tinggi Village, Ulu Moro'o District, Nias Barat Regency in 2019.
This research is quantitative with cross-sectional approach and conducted in Bukit Tinggi, Ulu Moro'o District, West Nias Regency in February - July 2019 with a population of 42 respondents, and the sample was the entire population. Data analysis was Univariat and Bivariat analysis with Chi-square Test.
Univariate analysis results showed that the majority of respondents' economy was in the low category of 36 respondents (85.7%), the majority of respondents' knowledge was not good amounted 23 respondents (54.8%), the majority of respondents' attitudes were not good amounted 23 respondents (54.8%) , and the majority of social culture is not good amounted 22 respondents (52.4%). From Bivariate results used the Chi-square test with Normal Labor Assistance Selection obtained economic (p=.001 <.05), knowledge (p=.006 <.05), attitude (p=.006 <.05), social culture (p=.008 <.05).
The conclusion of this study is that there are economic, knowledge, attitude, and social-cultural influences by selecting Normal Childbirth Assistance in Bukit Tinggi Village Ulu Moro'o District, West Nias Regency in 2019. Suggestion for research sites to promote P4K (Childbirth and Prevention Plannin Program) in the working area of the Ulu Moro’o Community Health Center.
