Abstract
A mother who experiences production and her ASI expenditure is not smooth can make her not exclusively breastfeed her baby so that exclusive ASI coverage in Indonesia is only 29.5%. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between knowledge of breast care, early breastfeeding initiation, frequency of breastfeeding, husband's support with ASI fluency.
The research design used by researchers is an analytical survey with a cross sectional survey design. The study was conducted in the Village of North Namu Ukur, Sei Bingai Subdistrict, Langkat District, 2018. The population in this study were all mothers who had 2-6 months old infants as many as 37 people. The sampling technique is the total population of 37 people. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately and the test used was chi square.
The results showed that there was a significant relationship between breast care knowledge and smooth ASI with p value = 0.019 (p <α). There was a relationship between early initiation of breastfeeding and smooth breastfeeding, obtained p value = 0,000 (p <α). There was a relationship between breastfeeding frequency and smooth breastfeeding, p value = 0.002 (p <α).
Conclusion there is a relationship between knowledge of breast care, early breastfeeding initiation, frequency of breastfeeding and husband's support with ASI fluency. It is expected that mothers can understand and carry out breast care and mothers initiate early breastfeeding as soon as the baby is born, it is expected that mothers often breastfeed babies at least 8 times per day and husbands should support their wives in breastfeeding so that ASI is smooth.
