Abstract
Malaria is a tropical disease caused by aides aygepti mosquito bites. This disease can affect all individuals regardless of age and sex and pregnant women are no exception. Malaria in pregnant women has the most severe impact on maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. One of the efforts to eradicate malaria is Clean and Healthy Life Behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) in the Family Order with Malaria in Pregnancy in the Mompang Health Center Work Area, North Panyabungan District, Mandailing Natal Regency in 2018.
The study used analytic survey with cross sectional approach. The study was conducted at the Mompang Health Center, Panyabungan Utara District, Mandailing Natal District. The population in this study was pregnant women in the working area of the puskesmas with a sample of 73 respondents in the study. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate with chi square test.
The results showed that the majority of positive malaria incidents were 38 respondents (52.1), while the minority of negative malaria incidents were 35 respondents (47.9%) using clean water p value 0.010, hand washing p value 0.001, latrine p value 0,001, eradication of mosquito larvae p value 0,000, eating fruits and vegetables p value 0,639, physical activity p value 0,738, smoking p value 0,636.
The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the use of clean water, washing hands, latrines and mosquito larvae with the incidence of malaria while eating fruits and vegetables, physical activity and smoking have no relationship with the incidence of malaria. It is recommended that pregnant women increase their knowledge both in prevention and in the treatment of malaria.
