Abstract

Background; diarrhea is still one of the main public health problems in Indonesia. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) data (2015) every year more than one billion cases of gastroenteritis or diarrhea. At Simarpinggan Health Center there are still 24 respondents (53.7%) with diarrhea. Objectives; the aim of the study was to determine the associated factors to diarrhea in infants aged 7-12 months at Simarpinggan Health Center, South Angkola Sub-district of South Tapanuli District in 2018. Methods; this study is an analytical survey research with a cross sectional approach. The method of data collection used primary data (questionnaire). The study was conducted at Simarpinggan Health Center, South Angkola Sub-district of South Tapanuli District in 2018. The sample of this study was infant aged 7-12 months as many as 45 people. Data were analyzed by conducting Chi-square analysis. Results; based on the results of the study, the results of the majority of complementary feeding were 22 people (48.9%) with a value of 0,000 <0,024, which means that ho was rejected, with the majority formula being 23 people (51,1%), with a value of 0,010 <0,009 means that ho was rejected, in good personal hygiene as many as 21 people (46.7%), obtained value of 0,000 <0,003 means that ho was rejected and ha was accepted. Conclusion; the conclusion of this study is that there are factors associated with diarrhea in infants aged 7-12 months.
