Abstract
Health is a gift that needs to be considered and maintained during the lifetime. One form of disease that we often encounter is sexually transmitted infections. sexually transmitted infections is a disease that is transmitted primarily through sexual intercourse. In the work area of Helvetia Health Center, there were several problems, one of which was the high incidence of sexually transmitted infections. The purpose of this study was to determine male sexual behavior of female commercial sex workers against the prevention of sexually transmitted infections in Helvetia Sub-district in 2018.
This type of research is research that uses descriptive qualitative research methods with interpretive paradigms. Where qualitative research emphasizes researchers as research instruments, using analysis with an inductive approach. Determination of informants in this study using purposive sampling technique. The selection of informants is based on certain criteria that are considered to support the research, 3 main informants have represented other informants, researchers want valid data received, 3 figures as triangulation informants namely commercial sex workers, 3 health workers, and 2 NGOs.
The results showed that the lack of achievement of STI prevention programs was due to lack of knowledge from male sexually transmitted infections users who only looked at sexually transmitted infections physically in determining condom use, negative attitudes held by male sexually transmitted infections users to information provided by health workers, actions that were still in the lack of STI prevention. , they still have an awareness of using condoms and consuming antibiotics, and the majority of income in the category is enough to hire sexually transmitted infections.
It is recommended that health workers in the Helvetia Sub-District Health Center Medan be encouraged to conduct more routine prevention of sexually transmitted infections to bring health workers to provide all information about signs and symptoms as well as prevention efforts for sexually transmitted infections.
