Abstract

One situation that gets a lot of attention in relation to stress is the world of work. Based on a brief initial survey conducted at the work guidance section and 4 security officers obtained information often complained of feeling tired when facing inmates and visitors amid a variety of facilities that were lacking. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the work stress of Meulaboh B class II Correctional Institutions.
The research design used in this study was Cross Sectional. The population in this study were 72 employees and samples taken by total sampling were 72 employees. Data collection methods are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis used is binary logistic regression test.
The results showed that sex had sig-p 0.003 <α = 0.05, the working period had a sig-p value of 0.013 <α = 0.05, work shift sig-p 0.025 <α = 0.05, workload had a value sig-p 0.002 <α = 0.05 and interpersonal relationships have a value of sig-p 0.018 <α = 0.05, which means it has an influence on employee stress. The biggest variable has an effect on work stress, namely gender variable, where female sex has 40 times the effect of work stress.
The conclusions in this study are the influence of gender, years of work, work shifts, workloads and interpersonal relationships on work stress, while the age, safety and career development variables have no influence on work stress. It is hoped that this research can be used as actual input material for prison officials about the factors that influence employee stress.
