Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), anemia generally occurs throughout the world, especially in developing countries and in low socio-economic groups. Overall, anemia occurs in 45% of women in developing countries and 13% in developed countries. Meanwhile in the third trimester pregnant women the risk of anemia is quite high at 29%. This study aims to determine the factors associated with anemia in third trimester pregnant women in Simpang Kiri Helth Centre Subulussalam Aceh Province in 2018.
The design of this study used an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study is the third trimester pregnant women in Simpang Kiri Health Center totaling 55 people and the sample in this study were all third trimester pregnant women in the Simpang Kiri Health Center. The data used secondary data. The instrument used medical records. Univariate and bivariate data analysis techniques with Chi-square test.
The results showed that from 55 respondents 27 people were anemic and 24 patients were not anemic, based on the chi square test of compliance with anemia with anemia, p = 0.021 < 0.05, the relationship between parity and anemia in third trimester pregnant women was obtained p = 0.006 < 0.05, the relationship between education and anemia in third trimester pregnant women obtained p = 0.032 < 0.05.
The conclusions in this study were the relationship of adherence to Fe tablet consumption, education, parity with anemia in third trimester pregnant women at Simpang Kiri health centre Subulussalam Aceh Province in 2018. It was recommended to Simpang Kiri Community Health Center to provide information on how to consume Fe tablets correctly and make posters - terter the dangers of anemia in pregnant women and efforts to prevent anemia in pregnant women in the Simpang Kiri Health Center.
