THE INFLUENCE FACTORS OF WASTING ON INFANTS WITH
MIX-METHODS ANALYSIS AT MEDAN SUNGGAL
PUBLIC HEALTH CENTRE 2018

Wasting is a type of lack of fear when the weight and blood loss are not equal to the price and value of the score more than -2SD. Wasting can result in impaired physical growth and even lower intelligence. It will affect the mortality rate. The purpose of this study is to find out and to analyze the factors that influences wasting events on infants. The research design of this study used quantitative and qualitative with cross sectional approaches. The number of samples amounted 38 respondents that were taken from the population of this study by using total sampling. The research was conducted at Medan Sunggal Health Center. From the results of the research correspondents had a level of income <Rp. 2,246,725, - amounted 25 families (65.8%), respondents with a minimum level of knowledge of 29 respondents (76.3%), respondentss to the highest education of 25 respondents (65.8%), respondents who did not work as many as 34 respondents (89.5%), respondents who gave consumption as well amounted 28 respondents (73.7%) and there were 28 respondents (73.7%). It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the occurrence of casting and consumption (p = 0.028 < 0.05). In the qualitative research, it was found that the lack of compliance in following activities and counseling was carried out by the Public Health Center. From the results of the study, the health centre parties should improve the monitoring activities carried out solely by assessing nutritional status and always actively following the guideline activities so that the nutritional status can be controlled and controlled properly.
