Abstract

The problem examined in this study is is there any influence of motivation on the performance of nurses in the Inpatient Installation of Deli Serdang Regional General Hospital. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of motivation on the performance of nurses in the Inpatient Installation of Deli Serdang Regional General Hospital.
The research conducted was quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study were all nurses who worked in the Inpatient Installation of Deli Serdang Regional General Hospital, amounting to 101 people who worked over 2 years. Samples taken were 50 people, obtained by using purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained offline and observation using questionnaires, analyzed by Multiple Logistic Regression Test at α = 0.05.
The results of multiple logistic statistical tests show that there is a significant effect of the intrinsic motivation variable p = 0.003 and extrinsic motivation p values = 0.010 on performance. The intrinsic motivation variable has the greatest influence on the performance of nurses in the Inpatient Room of the Deli Serdang Regional General Hospital with (Exp (B) value of 20.132, 95% CI: 2.839-142.757).
The conclusion of this study is that nurses have high internal-based motivation with a chance of 20,123 times performing well than nurses who have low intrinsic motivation. It is suggested to the management of Deli Serdang Regional General Hospital to provide rewards for implementing nurses who have performed well and properly in nursing care according to established standards and provide punishment for nurses who have not been optimal in performance. Training the implementing nurses for those who have never received nursing training, especially those directly involved with the implementation of nursing care activities in hospitals.
